MY FAVORITE HERBS< DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY FACTS

Before I was not aware much of searching on internet, I use cubes seasoning to enhance the flavor of the food am cooking. Not knowing much the danger of chemicals in it, yes it gives a much flavor but ruins our health.
Since my son taught me how to use our computer, I learned how to search on internet so many healthy facts. Thanks for the modern communication and serves as magazine so informative.
I learned that herbs are not only use for culinary purposes, but also has many health benefits for our body as well. I gathered things about different facts and benefits which we can derive from it.

PARSLEY-is a popular culinary herb and is recognized as one of the functional food for its antioxidants, and disease preventing properties.
Health benefits derives from it- it’s one of less calorific herb, its leaves contain zero cholesterol and fat, but rich in anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals, and dietary fiber. It help control blood cholesterol , offer protection from free radical medical cancers. It contains health benefiting essential volatile oils. Eugenol oil has been in the therapeutic applicatiuon in dentistry as local anesthetic and anti septic agent for teeth and gum diseases, reduce blood sugar levels in diabetics. It is a good source of potassium, calcium, manganeses, iron and magnesium. Potassium is the chief componenets of cell and body fluids that helps control heart rate and blood pressure by counterfering the effects of sodium. Iron is essential for the production of heme, an importantoxygen-carrying componenets inside the red blood cells. Manganese is used by the body as a co-factor for the antioxidants enzymes. It is also rich in many antioxidants such as vitamin A, beta carotene, vitamin c, E, Zea xanthin which helps prevent age-related macular degeneration in the retina of the eye in the old age population and ultra violet-violet light filtering functions. It includes lutein and cryptoxanthin, vitamin B-6 pyridoxine, riboflavinB-3 niacin B-2 and vitamin B-1 thiamin. These vitamins play a vital role in carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolisim by acting in the treatment of Alzheimer’s diseases patients by limiting neuronal damage in the brains.

CELERY- has strong aromatic flavor in cuisines, it is a small biennial herbaceous plant originated in Europe.

A good source of minerals such as potassium, sodium, calcium, manganese and magnesium. Its leaves and seeds contain many essential volatile oils that include terpenes. Essential oil obtained from extracted from it had been used as soothing remedy for nervousness, osteoarthritis and gouty=arthritis conditions. In addition, its seeds and root have diuretic, which remove excess water from the body through urine, galactogogue, helps breast secretion, stimulant and tonic properties.
BASIL-a powerful herb with a fragrant aroma and adaptable taste and can be added to many recipes as pleasant accent. It is common igredients fro tomato sauces and pesto recipes.

ROSEMARY- is a perfect potherb to have in kitchen garden for its many health benefits and in cuisine purposes. Leaves contain certain phyto-chemical compounds that are known to have disease preventing and health promoting properties. The flower part contain phenolicanti oxidant rosmaniric acid as well as numerous health benefiting volatile essential oils such as cineol, camphene, borneol, bornyl acetate, o-pinene and others which are known to have rubefacient, anti-inflamatory, anti-allergic, anti-fungal and anti-septic properties. This herb is exceptionally rich in many B-complex groups of vitamin, such as folic acid, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, riboflavin. It is use as antiseptic, diaphoretic, analgesic, antispasmodic and deuratic. Acts as emmenagogue which brings menstrual discharge, carminative which expel gas, and stimulant. It contains essential oil, a crystalline phenol known as thymol, proven antibiotic and disinfectant that enhances the immune system and fights infection. With external application, the essential oil is especially good for maintaining the health of the teeth and gums and relieving toothache.. Use to disinfect cuts and wounds, against fungi that cause athlete foot. As massage oil, can relieve rheumatism, gout, and sciatica( pain along the course of sciatic nerve especially in the back of the thigh). As added igredients on lotions, used as chest rub, helps to break up catarrh (inflammation of the mucous membrane) of upper respiratory tract. It may help to prevent hair loss when used as hair rinse combined with scalp massage.

OREGANO-a wonderful perennial culinary as well as medicinal herb and has been recognized as one of the functional foods for its nutrional, anti oxidants and disease preventing properties. The herb parts are rich source of dietary fiber which helps to control blood cholesterol levels. It contains benefiting essential oils such as carvacrol, thymol, limonene, pinene, ocimene and caryophyllene. BASIL-one of the oldest and popular herbal plants brimming with notable health benefiting phytonutrients and even called as holy herb. Now am sure on my right tract of healthy living and eating. These herbs can be eaten as raw in form of salads, incorporate in green juicing or in cooking along with fish, sea foods or meats. A delicious, healthy and tasteful dishes to go along in our cooking menus.

My attention was caught as I sit by our windows, praying of what’s interesting topic I should write. We’re almost one year now here on our new house it’s a small subdivision only.
